Mozy is offering everyone 2 GB of free space online to back up your data. The software even backs it up to their site automatically for you, so you don't have to manually upload the files and spend a million years trying to get it all on the server. This relatively new company has an offer that most, like myself, were unable to refuse. Using this services helps me to make sure that my data is always backed up and secured off site. I have most of it backed up at home but if something happens to the drive or my computer I'm just screwed.
They offer the 2 GB for free but they also have the option to pay only $5 a month and get 30GB of data backed up to their server. Which is an incredible amount of space for that price, some of the other offers I have seen have maxed out at 10GB for only $10. But being able to have 30Gb of your data backed up for $5 a month is incredible, I could back up all of my important files, my pictures and everything without worrying about something happening to them.
Anyway, the price is right on the 2Gb for free, but being able to backup 30GB for $5 is where the real deal is for me. They also offer an even higher tier that will let you backup 60GB of space for $10 a month for those that need twice as much for twice as much. At any rate, I think I have finally waded through the choices for off-site backup and found a winner at the right price. Try the service out yourself, it is free after all.
