The tech community is torn over the new WIPO laws that are being discuessed. The treaty would give broadcasters right over news that would be public domain. Meaning that if something big happened and president bush spoke about it, and for whatver reason a deal was made for it to be exclusive to fox news they would be the only ones with the right to broadcast that information. Anyone that attempted to broadcast it would be in violation of the rights of fox news.

Granted this is an extreme situation but it could very well be an issue, the various different rights that could be given to a single news authority could easily restrict news from being made public regardless of the media being in public domain.
