Since the announcement of all of the Dell batteries being recalled to the new announcement of the Lenovo and Toshiba battery recall, Sony has now reached a full 4.2 million dollars worth of batteries being recalled. All of the batteries that got recalled were made by Sony if you didn't know this. The amount of money that this recall would cost Sony is worth a 1/3 of their total years fiscal profit.
This could truly hurt Sony in a very bad way because they just came out of chapter 11 due to the ps3's failure to launch and overpricing. It looks like if the PS3 doesn't do overwhelmingly good that Sony could fall well below the red line into the deep dark black.
Only time will telll how this all turns out for Sony, hopefully they will just come out with the PS3 and offer it at a reasonable price. This would be their only savior it seems.
